The Department of Self-security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has disclosed a flagrant violation of environmental law.
It was found out that one of the officers of Ostrovetsky District Office of Internal Affairs brought dishonour on the police. He organized together with two local dweller a poach hunting in the beginning of January. They hoped they wouldn’t be disclosed. They shot three wild boars without any authorizing documents in the forest, located near the village Victosina of Ostrovetsky District. The prey was divided between them.
However, the illicit hunting was disclosed by the Department of Self-security. They found primary evidence together with the officers of Smorgon inter district Inspectorate on Wildlife Protection. Three hides and part of meat were seized from the violators. The case was transferred to the public prosecutor's office of Grodno Region.
Taking into account that a serious damage was inflicted (180 basic units) during the hunting), the violators would face a strict punishment. The policeman who participated in the poaching is likely to part with the state service.
